Celebrating International Women’s Day: Empowering Through Education and Inclusion
On March 9th, 2024, the spirit of International Women’s Day resonated vibrantly as Women in Logistics and Transport, in collaboration with the All Pakistan Women's Association (APWA), came together to celebrate and advocate for gender equality and women’s empowerment. The event, held under the theme of #InspireInclusion - Invest in Women’s Education to Accelerate Progress, highlighted the pivotal role of education in advancing the status of women and girls worldwide.
One of the highlights of the event was the participation of children from APWA Schools, who showcased their creativity and advocacy through a series of posters. These vibrant posters encapsulated the essence of the theme, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity and investment in women’s education as catalysts for societal progress. The youthful energy and enthusiasm exhibited by these young advocates served as a powerful reminder of the transformative impact education can have in shaping a more equitable future.
Gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest was Mr. Mohammad Ahmad Shah (HI,SI), the Caretaker Provincial Minister for Information, Minority Affairs, Social Protection, Sindh, and President of the Arts Council of Pakistan. His presence underscored the significance of collective efforts in promoting gender equality and fostering an environment where women and girls are empowered to thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.
The event not only celebrated the achievements of women but also served as a platform for dialogue and action towards addressing the barriers that hinder their full participation and inclusion in various spheres of life.
