APWA Representatives Attend the 68th United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68)

The 68th United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW68) has been a pivotal event in the global agenda for gender equality and women's empowerment. This year, from March 11–22, 2024, the event convened in New York, drawing attention to the theme of "Accelerating the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls." At the forefront of this crucial gathering were representatives from the All Pakistan Women's Association (APWA), actively participating to contribute to the discourse and advocate for meaningful change.

APWA has always been committed to championing the rights and empowerment of women and girls in Pakistan and beyond. With this commitment in mind, three distinguished executives from APWA attended CSW68, embodying the organization's dedication to advancing gender equality on the global stage.

Mrs. Rashida Kiran Adil, Mrs. Dur e Shehwar, the Chief Operating Officer of APWA, and Mrs. Saima Zahid. Their presence underscored APWA's multifaceted approach to addressing gender disparities and promoting inclusive development.

Throughout CSW68, APWA's representatives actively engaged in discussions, sharing perspectives, and experiences from Pakistan's context while also learning from the diverse experiences of participants from around the world. They emphasized the importance of intersectional approaches to gender equality, recognizing the unique challenges faced by women and girls across different regions and socio-economic backgrounds.

Participation in CSW68 not only allowed APWA to contribute to global dialogues but also provided an opportunity to forge partnerships and collaborations with international stakeholders. By networking and sharing best practices, APWA aims to strengthen its initiatives and amplify its impact on advancing gender equality at both national and international levels.

As CSW68 draws to a close, APWA remains steadfast in its commitment to accelerating progress towards gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls. The insights gained from this experience will inform APWA's future advocacy efforts, as the organization continues its mission to create a more inclusive and equitable world for everyone.

Together, let's strive towards a future where every woman and girl can thrive and fulfill her potential, free from discrimination and inequality.
